Open 2 weeks and our first flame war!

One of my goals when starting the GPSL Trading Post list was to provide the
community of GPSL and other local shooting enthusiasts a classifieds mailing
list. Other web-based forums suffer from the fact that you have to know you
want something to go look there. 

Also note that while GPSL members figure large on the list, the list also
includes folks from other clubs and disciplines. So, GPSLers - do not assume
everyone knows your references. And, non-GPSLers - please excuse the GPSL
references.

This list is composed of a group of shooters primarily in and around
Atlanta. One therefore hopes that shooting paraphenalia will figure large in
the listings -- the target audience is receptive to those items. Sale and
exchange should be easy as many of us meet at different matches every month.
It is intended as a service to our local shooting community.	

I have personally posted some employment opportunities; many shooters like
to work; several have forwarded me resumes; I hope they think that it is
helpful. Personally I prefer to work with folks I know and, as Mark says, if
one of you has something I can use, why not put the $ in your pocket instead
of Sam Walton's?

HOWEVER, this is a subscription-only list. You cannot post unless you are
subscribed; you cannot receive either. 

Persons abusing the list will be de-subscribed; persons not wishing to
receive these postings may un-subscribe. You may also opt to receive emails
in a digest format instead of instantly.  This list is not the same one used
for GPSL official communications so unsubscribing here does not cut you out
of that loop.

Postings which are "Abuse" are subjective - I would not consider an offer of
goods or services from a person to be abuse. Perpetual postings of the same
item would be. This is also not a forum to disemminate the latest internet
jokes, conspiracy theories, political opinion and rumors -- it is a
"Classifieds" list. However, if enough folks want a mailing list for all the
above plus vents and flames I can set one of those up as well.

I will set up some filters to try to auto-categorize "Shooting" and "Other"
postings to the TradingPost list.  This will be a trial and error activity -
I am sure there will be some mis-categorizations. As I refine the process,
you can choose to only receive some categories, or none.

Meanwhile, take a deep breath and use the delete key.
