[GPSL-Tradingpost] rifle appraiser

I have a friend at work who inherited an old rifle from her grandfather.  Does anyone know who she could take it to for an appraisal?  She has tried some of the gunshops / gunsmiths here in Gainesville and they can only tell her that it's old {DUH} and may be worth something {DUH x 2}--but they don't have a clue as to value.
